Joe Ingles’ Future With Jazz In Doubt After Season-Ending ACL Tear

Jazz forward Joe Ingles has been lost for the season to a left ACL tear, as relayed first by Adrian Wojnarowki of ESPN.

Ingles is expected to have surgery on the knee within the next two weeks, Woj reported, adding that no other structural damage was found.

Ingles, 34, is 6-foot-8 and averaging 7.2 points, 3.5 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 45 games, playing a big role in helping them finish with the best record in the NBA last season.

As Wojnarowski noted, Ingles will be a free agent at the end of the season.

“Not only will the injury will effectively end Ingles’ season, it could put the remainder of his NBA career and time with the Jazz in question,” wrote Austin Facer of ABC4. “The 34-year-old Australian was in the final year of a contact he had renewed with the Jazz in 2019 and had already seen a drop off in his effectiveness in multiple aspects of his game this season.”

The Jazz (30-21) entered Monday in fifth place in the Western Conference after having lost five in a row. Ingles suffered the injury vs. the Timberwolves on Sunday.
