The Kings have signed veteran swingman DaQuan Jeffries to a 10-day hardship contract, according to NBA.com’s transaction log.
Per Keith Smith of Spotrac, the move didn’t require the Kings to waive anyone from their 15-man roster. That’s how hardship exceptions work: A team qualifies if it has four players sidelined by injury or illness for three or more games, with those players expected to miss at least two more weeks.
Sacramento easily clears the bar. Zach LaVine (hand), Domantas Sabonis (knee), De’Andre Hunter (eye), and Drew Eubanks (thumb) are all done for the season. Russell Westbrook (foot), Nique Clifford (foot), and Keegan Murray (ankle) are also out right now, but Westbrook and Clifford haven’t hit the three-game threshold yet and Murray looks like he could return in the next couple weeks.
Jeffries, 28, got his NBA start with the Kings back in 2019 as an undrafted free agent out of Tulsa. He’s bounced around since then, logging 111 regular-season games with Sacramento, Houston, Memphis, New York, and Charlotte.
The 6-foot-5 guard/forward owns career averages of 4.6 points and 2.1 rebounds in 15.9 minutes per game on .415/.315/.783 shooting.
Jeffries spent the entire 2025-26 season so far in the G League with the Stockton Kings, where he put up strong numbers: 21.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game on .506/.420/.843 shooting across 35 appearances. That production earned him this call-up.
The 10-day deal will pay Jeffries $165,197 and run through April 4, covering Sacramento’s next five games. The Kings will take a $131,970 cap hit.
