The Kings have signed and waived guard/forward Dexter Dennis and shooting guard Justin Powell, per the RealGM transactions log.
Both players were signed to Exhibit 10 deals and are now headed for the Stockton Kings, barring anything unlikely.
Dennis, 25, is 6-foot-5 and appeared in four games with the Mavericks last season as a rookie. Dallas waived him in December and he landed with the Texas Legends (29 games) and Cleveland Charge of the G League (15), averaging 11.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. He also is considered a strong wing defender.
Powell, 23, is 6-6 and went to training camp with the Cavaliers as a rookie last season but did not make the standard roster. He instead played for the Charge, averaging 6.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 44 games.
His rights were traded from the Charge to the Stockton Kings in a three-team trade earlier this month. He went undrafted out of Washington State in 2023 and also spent some time with the Heat.
An Exhibit 10 contract is a non-guaranteed minimum-salary deal. It doesn’t count toward a team’s cap unless the player makes the final roster. It also can be converted to a two-way deal before the season begins or mean guaranteed money if a player is waived and then stays on the G League club for at least 60 days.
The Kings open training camp on Tuesday, aiming to build off a season in which they beat the Warriors in the play-in tournament, before losing the next play-in game to the Pelicans and missing the playoffs.
