Knicks Asked Bulls About Zach LaVine, But Price Reportedly Too High

Like most teams, the Knicks have explored several trades this offseason, and even pulled one off, sending forward Obi Toppin to the Pacers.Zach LaVine

But when it comes to their inquiries into Bulls guard Zach LaVine … forget it. Per Fred Katz of The Athletic, the asking price was just too high. Or as one source told Katz, it was “giant.”

The sides therefore never got close to a deal, Katz added.

While Chicago has seemingly been open to a deal involving LaVine, it doesn’t seem like a trade is too likely. Just ask LaVine.

“I’ve been with the Bulls for seven years,” he said, via Ryan Taylor of NBC Sports Chicago. “I’ve had my name in trade talks. You don’t love it, but you understand the business. I’ve been traded before, so you understand it.”

For now, though, it doesn’t appear he’ll be headed to the Knicks.

“I always rep my city whichever team I’m playing for to the best,” LaVine said. “And Chicago’s loved me and called me one of their own since I’ve been there. I don’t see anything happening anytime soon. But if it does, Chicago always has my love.”
