It’s never too late to make another move. At least, as long as that move is made before the Feb. 8 trade deadline.
And according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the New York Knicks are still looking to add to the roster after trading for forward OG Anunoby on Dec. 31.
Currently on the Knicks’ radar: Charlotte Hornets guard Terry Rozier, Portland Trail Blazers guard Malcolm Brogdon and Detroit Pistons guard/forward Alec Burks, who actually played for the Knicks once already (2020-22).
Basically, the Knicks are seeking another guy to handle the ball, it seems.
“The Knicks are doing their due diligence and looking at various players across the league, including Hornets guard Terry Rozier, Blazers guard Malcolm Brogdon, former Tom Thibodeau favorite Alec Burks, sources said,” Scotto wrote.
New York is believed to be very open to trading guards Quentin Grimes and Evan Fournier. Both of them reportedly would love to be traded, too.
Rozier, 29, is undoubtedly the most explosive of the players mentioned and reportedly could be had for some draft picks (and matching salary). He is averaging 24.0 points and 6.7 assists, shooting 46 percent overall and 38 percent on 3-pointers. Rozier is making $23.2 million.
Brogdon, 31 is averaging 14.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists. He is shooting 43 from the floor and 41.0 percent on threes. He has a $22.5 million contract.
Burks, 32, is averaging 12.1 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists, shooting 39 percent overall as well on 3-pointers. He’s making $10.5 million.
