Uncertainty is part of the deal right now for Kristaps Porzingis.
The season is over for the Warriors, and Porzingis is headed toward free agency with more questions than answers.

“That’s a good question,” he said when asked about returning, via Melissa Rohlin of the California Post. “I do love my time here… Not one bad thing I can say about the organization, the team, the teammates. I really love it here.”
That part is clear. Everything else? Still sorting itself out.
Porzingis played just 15 of 31 games after arriving in February, dealing with ongoing health issues, including POTS. It’s been another up-and-down year, and he knows it.
“I haven’t had a good year,” he said. “If I had a good year, I think I’d have a more clear picture… This is an offseason… I’m just going to take a step back, look at the whole picture and then see what’s the best direction for me.”
There were flashes. He averaged 16.1 points and showed real chemistry at times with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. One of his best nights came in the play-in, when he delivered 20 points, five rebounds and five assists.
“Honestly, that was a big step forward for me,” Porzingis said. “To have a game like this, it means a lot.”
The fit works. Or so it seems.
“Kristaps was fantastic,” coach Steve Kerr said. “He changed our team… floor spacing and shot-blocking.”
Now it comes down to money and direction. Porzingis made over $30 million this season. Golden State likely can’t go there again. Mutual interest appears to be there.
The path forward? Still to be determined.
