Michael Beasley Parts Ways With Shanghai Sharks

Free agent forward Michael Beasley has parted ways with the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association, as relayed by Emiliano Carchia of Sportando.Michael Beasley

Beasley, 33, is 6-foot-9 and was the No. 2 overall pick out of Kansas State in the 2008 NBA Draft. He last appeared in the league during the 2018-19 season, when played 26 games with the Lakers.

He has also served two stints with the Heat, and has spent time with the Knicks, Bucks, Rockets, Suns and Timberwolves. Along with that, he has played professionally in Puerto Rico.

He reportedly signed a seven-figure deal with the Sharks over the summer — but lasted just five months. No reason for was given for the decision to leave China.

Beasley carries NBA career averages of 12.4 points and 4.7 rebounds. He spent parts of the past year working out with Clippers point guard John Wall and several others in Miami.
