More Than 100 Players Withdraw From NBA Draft

College basketball players had to withdraw from the 2022 NBA Draft by June 1 to retain NCAA eligibility, and more than 100 made the decision to return to school or international leagues.Drew Timme

As noted by RealGM, the list “included likely first round pick Terquavion Smith. In addition, college standouts Max Abmas, Tyler Burton, Baylor Scheierman and Drew Timme all returned to play their senior seasons.”

Timme was perhaps the biggest name as the reigning West Coast Conference Player of the Year and a two-time All-American at Gonzaga. He was not listed among most respected mock drafts, however. So perhaps a return to the college ranks will help improve his draft stock.

The NBA’s withdrawal deadline is June 13 at 5 pm ET. The 2022 NBA Draft is scheduled for Thursday, June 23.
