NBA Notes: Bulls, Isaac Okoro, Bucks, Chris Quinn, Wizards

Bulls

Bulls wing Isaac Okoro knows how this league works.

He has a year left on his deal, but nothing is guaranteed. Speaking Monday, Okoro acknowledged the uncertainty after being traded to Chicago last summer, per Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times.

“It’s the NBA, it’s the business, and I can be traded again somewhere,” Okoro said. “I love being here and I love the culture we’re trying to build, so I just have to try and control what I can control.”

That mindset didn’t come overnight.

“I’ve gotten used to it,” he added. “I’ve only been traded one time, but in Cleveland come every offseason I felt like I could have been traded.”

So the plan is simple: Get better. Let the rest handle itself.

Bucks

The Bucks are casting a wide net in their coaching search.

According to Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Milwaukee is considering several candidates, including former Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins and current assistant Darvin Ham.

Two additional names have surfaced as well: Sean Sweeney, currently with the San Antonio Spurs, and Chris Quinn of the Miami Heat are also in the mix.

Sweeney has familiarity with the organization and built a strong relationship with Giannis Antetokounmpo during a previous stint in Milwaukee. Quinn, meanwhile, has drawn prior interest from the Bucks.

Wizards

The Wizards have some major decisions looming.

In his offseason guide, Bobby Marks of ESPN pointed to the contract situations of Trae Young and Anthony Davis as top priorities.

Young faces a June 23 decision on a $49 million player option. He can also sign a three-year, $156.9 million extension before June 30, or opt in and revisit things later in free agency.

Davis isn’t headed for free agency, but he is extension-eligible on Aug. 6. A new four-year deal would replace his $62.8 million player option for the 2027-28 season.

Big numbers. Big choices. And a big offseason ahead in Washington.
