Raptors Officially Sign Former Lakers Big Man To 10-Day Contract

The Raptors have signed center Colin Castleton to a 10-day contract, according to the NBA transactions log. Castleton, who went undrafted by the NBA out of Florida in 2023, spent his rookie season on two-way contracts with the Lakers and Grizzlies.Colin Castleton, Raptors, Lakers, NBA

The 6-foot-10 big man has played in 26 combined NBA games, recording 38 points and 21 rebounds in 105 total minutes.

While Castleton’s NBA experience has been limited, he has stood out in the G League, performing well for the Lakers’, Grizzlies’, and Magic’s affiliates.

This season, the 24-year-old has appeared in 26 G League games, averaging 17.3 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.3 blocks in 30.2 minutes per game for the Osceola Magic and Memphis Hustle.

Castleton was waived by the Grizzlies in January and has been playing for the Osceola Magic since then.

Following the promotion of center Orlando Robinson to a standard contract on Tuesday, Toronto has an open spot on its 15-man roster, meaning no corresponding move will be required to accommodate Castleton.

The 10-day contract, which will pay Castleton $107,027, will also carry that same cap hit for the Raptors.

Toronto’s next game is on Friday, but it remains unclear exactly when the contract will actually start. The 10-day deal will cover at least the Raptors’ next five games and could extend to six, depending on the timing of the official signing.

The Raptors (20-42) are four games out of a play-in spot in the Eastern Conference and are most likely headed for a spot in the draft lottery.
