NBA Rumors: Celtics, Jaylen Brown, Nuggets, Cam Johnson, Blazers, Bucks

Celtics

The Celtics continue to sit at the center of the NBA rumor mill.

While rival executives remain convinced Jaylen Brown will eventually be traded, Brian Robb of MassLive hears a deal with the Nuggets remains “highly unlikely” because Denver simply doesn’t have enough draft capital to entice Boston.

The Celtics are believed to be seeking frontcourt help, and according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, they’ve expressed interest in Nuggets forwards Cameron Johnson and Aaron Gordon. Robb added that Boston has monitored Gordon in the past, though Jamal Murray is not believed to be a realistic target because of his maximum contract.

Toronto also remains among the teams linked to Brown, though Scottie Barnes is considered off limits in any discussions, according to Robb.

Nuggets

Cam Johnson may not be in Denver much longer.

Scotto reports several teams, including the Celtics, Lakers, Heat, Clippers and Magic, have expressed trade interest in the veteran forward. Bennett Durando of The Denver Post also believes Johnson could be moved in the coming days.

If Denver does trade Johnson, it would mark another significant offseason shakeup as the Nuggets continue trying to reshape the roster around Nikola Jokic.

Trail Blazers

If the Trail Blazers can’t land Jaylen Brown, Aaron Gordon could become Plan B.

According to Scotto, Portland remains focused on Brown but would pivot to Gordon if a blockbuster with Boston can’t be completed.

Any offer for Brown would likely include Jerami Grant, one of Scoot Henderson or Shaedon Sharpe, and draft picks, Robb reported. However, Deni Avdija, Toumani Camara and Donovan Clingan are all believed to be difficult players for Portland to part with.

Bucks

Tyler Herro may have a new team, but the trade chatter hasn’t completely disappeared.

Before Herro was acquired by Milwaukee as part of the Giannis Antetokounmpo blockbuster, Scotto reported the Lakers explored a package involving Austin Reaves, while the Nets also checked in with Miami about a possible deal.

Now that Herro is in Milwaukee, rival teams are watching closely to see whether the Bucks intend to keep him or eventually use him in another move.
