NBA Rumors: Knicks, Landry Shamet, Spurs, Julian Champagnie, Bucks

Knicks

The Knicks continue checking important boxes before free agency officially begins.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, veteran guard Landry Shamet has agreed to a four-year, $24 million contract to remain in New York after playing the past two seasons with the franchise.

Shamet averaged 9.3 points while shooting nearly 40 percent from three during the regular season, then elevated his play during the Knicks’ championship run by knocking down 47.5 percent of his three-pointers in the playoffs.

According to SNY’s Ian Begley, Shamet turned down larger annual offers elsewhere in favor of remaining with the defending champions on a longer-term contract.

The move gives New York another proven perimeter shooter as the front office continues working to keep much of its championship rotation together.

Spurs

Julian Champagnie‘s breakout season is paying off.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Spurs are declining Champagnie’s $3 million team option in order to sign the forward to a new three-year, $45 million contract.

The move comes after Champagnie emerged as a full-time starter last season, averaging 11.1 points and 5.8 rebounds while shooting 38.1% from three. The former St. John’s standout also appeared in all 82 games for a second straight year, becoming a valuable floor spacer on a Spurs team that reached the NBA Finals.

The contract also gives San Antonio another mid-sized salary that could prove useful in future trades, while allowing the Spurs to reward one of their more important rotation players without sacrificing financial flexibility.

Bucks

The Bucks are parting ways with Andre Jackson Jr.

According to The Athletic’s Eric Nehm, Milwaukee is declining Jackson’s team option, making the former second-round pick an unrestricted free agent.

Jackson showed flashes during his first two NBA seasons and made 43 starts in 2024-25, but his role diminished considerably last season as he struggled to crack Doc Rivers‘ regular rotation.

The move opens the door for Jackson to look for a fresh opportunity elsewhere as Milwaukee continues reshaping its roster following the blockbuster trade that sent Giannis Antetokounmpo to Miami.
