The Magic have agreed to a one-year, $7 million deal with veteran point guard Tyus Jones, per NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN. The deal uses a portion of Orlando’s non-taxpayer mid-level exception and hard-caps the team at the first apron, per ESPN’s Bobby Marks.

Jones, 28, averaged 10.2 points and 5.3 assists on 41.4 percent three-point shooting last season with the Suns. He’ll serve as a stabilizing presence behind Jalen Suggs, bringing a steady hand to the backup point guard role.

He also reunites with Desmond Bane, his former teammate in Memphis, where the duo helped lead the Grizzlies to consecutive playoff berths.

Suns Land Euroleague Finals MVP Hayes-Davis

The Suns have reached a one-year, fully guaranteed deal with Nigel Hayes-Davis, Charania reports. Hayes-Davis, 30, is fresh off earning Euroleague Finals MVP honors after helping Fenerbahce capture the 2025 championship.

The former Wisconsin standout averaged 16.8 points and 5.2 rebounds while shooting 42.3 percent from three in Euroleague play. He briefly played in the NBA during the 2017–18 season but has since carved out a niche as a high-level shooter and defender overseas. He’ll add depth on the wing for Phoenix behind Royce O’Neale and Grayson Allen.

Celtics Sign Garza as Frontcourt Depth Thins

Boston has agreed to a two-year, minimum-salary deal with center Luka Garza, according to Charania. With Kristaps Porzingis off to Atlanta, Luke Kornet signing in San Antonio, and Al Horford expected to leave in free agency, the Celtics’ big man depth has taken a hit.

Garza, 26, averaged 4.5 points and 1.6 assists in limited minutes over three seasons with the Timberwolves. The Celtics have reportedly tracked his progress and were interested in his availability prior to this agreement. He joins Xavier Tillman and Neemias Queta as Boston’s current options at center.

Spurs Ink Kornet to Four-Year Deal

Free agent center Luke Kornet is heading to San Antonio on a four-year, $41 million contract, Charania reports. The deal includes a team option in the final year, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Kornet spent the past three-plus seasons with the Celtics, becoming a key reserve during Boston’s 2024 championship run. Known for his rim protection and screen-setting, Kornet averaged 1.0 blocks per game in limited minutes over the past two seasons. While he entered the league as a stretch five, he’s pivoted to a more traditional paint-based role in recent years.

Grizzlies Re-Sign Spencer on Two-Year Deal

The Grizzlies have reached a two-year, $4.5 million agreement with guard Cam Spencer, sources tell Charania. The deal is fully guaranteed and likely falls under the league minimum structure.

Spencer, 24, appeared in 25 games last season as a rookie on a two-way deal, averaging 4.2 points while shooting 36.5 percent from deep. The UConn product was the 53rd pick in the 2024 draft and helped lead the Huskies to a national championship before joining Memphis. He now earns a standard roster spot heading into his second season.

Meanwhile, Memphis had a busy opening day of NBA free agency. Follow along on our Grizzlies page for more.
