NBA Trade Rumors: Lakers, Bucks And Knicks May Make Moves Sooner Rather Than Later

In the world of NBA trade rumors, the action usually doesn’t heat up until we’re staring down the February 6 deadline. But according to insider Jake Fischer, there are a few teams looking to buck the trend — and maybe make a move sooner.NBA, LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers, Tom Brady

The Lakers and Bucks, he says, are already sniffing around for deals, and don’t sleep on the Knicks, who are still eyeing ways to bolster their center rotation.

Let’s start with L.A. The Lakers are always a team to watch when the trade winds blow, and this year’s no different. They’re obviously powered by LeBron James and Anthony Davis, but depth is the lingering concern as they go through an incredibly rocky stretch.

If GM Rob Pelinka has a move up his sleeve to give them an extra scoring punch or defensive anchor, he might not wait until February to pull the trigger.

The Bucks? They’re in a similar boat. Milwaukee’s Damian Lillard era has been fairly uneven, as the Bucks have shown some vulnerabilities — especially defensively.

Sure, they’ve got Giannis Antetokounmpo doing MVP things and Dame hitting clutch shots, but adding a versatile wing or another defensive-minded player could solidify their title chances. They know it, and Fischer hints they might not sit idle for long.

As for the Knicks, they’ve been poking around for a while, particularly when it comes to their big man rotation. When healthy, Mitchell Robinson has been a force defensively, but behind him, the depth is a little thin.

Whether it’s another rim protector or just insurance for a playoff run, New York seems intent on addressing that need.

The clock’s ticking, but some teams clearly don’t plan to wait until the buzzer to make their move. For now, plenty of eyes are on L.A., Milwaukee, and the Big Apple.
