The Pistons are already facing elimination. Now they are dealing with uncertainty.
Detroit has listed Duncan Robinson, Caris LeVert and Kevin Huerter as questionable for Friday’s Game 6 in Cleveland, according to Hunter Patterson of The Athletic.
That is not ideal timing. The Pistons have dropped three straight after opening the series with two wins. Now they need one on the road just to extend the season.
Robinson’s status may be the biggest swing factor. He was terrific early in the series, averaging 17 points while shooting better than 58 percent from deep over the first three games. He also contributed across the board with steals, assists and rebounds.
Since then, the back issue has clearly slowed him.
He tried to gut it out in Game 4 but struggled, finishing with four points and four fouls while attempting just two shots. Detroit was outscored heavily with him on the floor.
LeVert has taken on a larger role with Robinson limited, even while dealing with his own injury. Huerter returned in Game 5 after missing time, but is still working his way back.
Now it comes down to availability. The Pistons need bodies. And they need production.
