Serena Winters to join Cavs radio broadcasts for select games

The Cavaliers’ radio booth will have a familiar addition for select games this season.

Serena Winters will join play-by-play announcer Tim Alcorn for games with exclusive national television broadcasts, the team announced as part of its new agreement with iHeartMedia Cleveland. Alcorn returns for his eighth season calling Cavs games.

It’s a role Winters knows. She joined the Cavs’ radio broadcasts as a sideline reporter during last season’s playoffs. She’ll also continue her regular sideline work on the team’s DAZN television broadcasts.

The radio announcement follows Jim Chones’ decision to step away from his longtime analyst role after last season. Chones remains involved with the Cavs and is scheduled to appear on the team’s Tuesday morning radio update.

The rest of the radio lineup has plenty of continuity. Mike Snyder returns for his 35th year as studio host and will handle the pregame, halftime and postgame shows. Brad Sellers joins him after games for his 17th season as studio analyst.

The Cavs’ longtime radio homes, WTAM 1100 AM/106.9 FM and 100.7 FM WMMS, remain in place. Every game will also air across a 19-station iHeartMedia network and stream through the Cavs App and iHeartRadio app.

Winters has already worked with Alcorn in the playoffs. This season, listeners will hear them together again on select nights.
