The Spurs and Raptors continue to discuss a trade involving San Antonio center Jakob Poeltl ahead of Thursday’s deadline, per Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
As Stein noted, the recent narrative around Poeltl seemed to suggest he likely would not be traded.
“Over the past 24 hours, though, that tone has been replaced by the strongest signals to date that San Antonio is prepared to move him before Thursday’s 3 PM ET deadline,” Stein wrote.
Along with the Raptors, the Celtics and Wizards have expressed trade interest in Poeltl, per Stein and as we relayed here.
The Raptors, of course, have been perhaps the most discussed team on the rumor mill, with the likes of forward OG Anunoby, guard/forward Gary Trent Jr. and point guard Fred VanVleet being mentioned most.
As we relayed here, Trent may be involved in a Poeltl deal with the Spurs.
The Raptors and Spurs continue to discuss trade scenarios that would land in-demand big man Jakob Poeltl back with Toronto, league sources say.
