Suns Signing Duane Washington Jr To Two-Way Deal

The Suns have agreed to a two-way contract with free agent guard Duane Washington Jr., agent Shayaun Saee told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.Duane Washington

Washington was waived by the Pacers when the team extended an offer sheet to Deandre Ayton back on July 14. (The Suns eventually matched.)

Washington, 22, is 6-foot-3 and showed plenty of promise as a rookie after going undrafted out of Ohio State in 2021. He averaged 9.9 points in 48 games last season, shooting 41 percent from the field.

He spent most of last season on a two-way contract, before receiving a non-guaranteed multiyear standard deal. He was waived shortly before it became guaranteed. Theoretically, he will now add some depth to the Suns at point guard behind Chris Paul and Cameron Payne.
