Trae Young, Hawks Expected to Discuss Future Together During Offseason

The Hawks’ front office has reportedly been given the green light to discuss trades centered on star guard Trae Young this offseason, and how Young responds to some meetings may play a role in his future with the franchise.Trae Young

Per Shams Charania of Stadium, Young and the Hawks’ front office, coaching staff and perhaps team ownership will meet after the season to gauge where things stand.

Young and new coach Quin Snyder appear to be off to a good start together, with mutual respect for the other, per Charania.

Much of what happens next for the Hawks and Young will undoubtedly depend on what happens in the play-in tournament and playoffs. That’s not to say Young is a goner if the Hawks fail to advance, but you would have to think it increases the likelihood.

Young, 24, averaged 26.2 points and a career-high 10.2 assists in 73 regular-season games, shooting 43 percent from the field and 34 percent on 3-pointers.
