West Notes: Blazers, Damian Lillard, Thunder, Nuggets

Trail Blazers

The Blazers selected Scoot Henderson with the No. 3 pick in the NBA Draft, meaning they have yet to land the type of veteran player Damian Lillard supposedly wants.

Now, all the Blazers need to do this offseason is determine whether Lillard wants to stay. Portland, of course, still has the looming free agency period and beyond to make some moves.

“Damian Lillard has a decision to make,” ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski said. “If he decides he wants a trade, I think the organization will accommodate him. But they don’t want to trade him.”

Meanwhile, Blazers GM Joe Cronin suggested to reporters he believes Lillard and Henderson can work in the backcourt.

“My goal is to keep both of them,” he said.

The Blazers and Lillard reportedly have not touched based on the draft or the roster to this point.

Thunder

  • The Thunder have agreed to a contract with Baylor guard Adam Flagler, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. It’s not clear whether it’s a training camp or two-way deal.
  • The Thunder are also signing Rutgers guard/forward Caleb McConnell to a camp deal, the school announced.

Nuggets

  • The Nuggets are signing Virginia guard Armaan Franklin to a training camp contract, per Jon Chepkevich of DraftExpress. Franklin led UVA in scoring this past season.
