West Notes: Mavs, Reggie Bullock, Clippers, Kings

Mavericks

  • The Mavericks will keep forward Reggie Bullock on the roster and guarantee his salary for the 2023-24 season, per Marc Stein of The Stein Line. Bullock averaged 7.2 points and 3.6 rebounds in 78 games.
  • In case you missed it, star guard Kyrie Irving is expected to return to the Mavs, as we relayed here. He is still likely to test the market, reports suggest.

Clippers

The Clippers won’t guarantee the $20.9 salary for guard Eric Gordon, allowing him to enter free agency, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. The team confirmed that Gordon has been waived.

Per Bobby Marks of ESPN, waiving Gordon “will drop the Clippers’ projected tax bill from $169M to $59M. LA is $18M over the $165M tax threshold.”

Gordon, 34, is likely to draw interest from other contenders, but probably not until later in free agency or right before training camp.

Kings

  • The Kings have picked up the $1.9 option on the contract of small forward Kessler Edwards, per Wojnarowski. Edwards was acquired from the Nets in February, averaging 3.9 points and 2.1 rebounds in 22 games with Sacramento.
  • In case you missed it, the Kings have been linked to Wizards free agent forward Kyle Kuzma, as we relayed here. They reportedly are also meeting with forward Harrison Barnes, who may still return.
