West Rumors: Lakers, Bruce Brown, Timberwolves, Blazers

Lakers

The Lakers are said to have significant in restricted free agent Bruce Brown, per Michael Singer of the Denver Post.

Brown, of course, was a key reserve for the Nuggets on their run to the championship. He recently opted out of his contract, though stated at the end of the season he wants to return to Denver.

As Singer reported, the Lakers can offer Brown their full-midlevel exception, which comes out to about $12 million annually. That’s compared to the Nuggets, who could offer just $7.8 million this season.

  • We have more news on the Lakers and their intentions to bring back D’Angelo Russell and others right here.

Timberwolves

The Timberwolves have spoken to the Wizards about acquiring point guard Monte Morris or Delon Wright, per Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic

Washington has reportedly made both players available after acquiring Tyus Jones from the Grizzlies and expected to give second-year man Johnny Davis more playing time.

Trail Blazers

The Trail Blazers are not expected to extend a qualifying offer to forward Cam Reddish, allowing him to enter free agency, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. Reddish was acquired from the Knicks at the February trade deadline.

  • Should Damian Lillard become available, the Spurs could be a “wild card” to land the star guard, per Bobby Marks of ESPN.  Lillard has also been linked to the Heat — and of course, a return to Portland. (Full post)
