NBC Finalizes NBA Broadcast Team Ahead Of Highly Anticipated Return

NBA, NBC
NBC Universal

The NBA is returning to NBC next season for the first time in more than two decades, and the network has officially completed its broadcast lineup for the 2025–26 campaign.

After months of slow reveals, NBC’s full roster is set, and it’s packed with star power, broadcast veterans, and fresh voices.

From longtime network staples like Mike Tirico and Maria Taylor to newcomers such as Carmelo Anthony and crossover additions like Reggie Miller and Grant Hill, NBC is aiming to blend legacy with new energy. Even Michael Jordan will have a presence as a “special contributor.”

NBC plans to air up to five games per week across its main network and Peacock streaming platform, creating the need for a deep and versatile bench. The result is a group that brings together experience, celebrity, and next-generation broadcast talent in what the network hopes will be a signature part of its NBA revival.

Full Lineup

Here’s the complete roster for NBA on NBC entering its first season back:

Play-by-Play: Mike Tirico, Noah Eagle, Terry Gannon, Michael Grady
Game Analysts: Reggie Miller, Jamal Crawford, Grant Hill, Derek Fisher, Brad Daugherty, Brian Scalabrine, Austin Rivers, Robbie Hummel
Studio Hosts: Maria Taylor, Ahmed Fareed
Studio Analysts: Carmelo Anthony, Vince Carter
Special Contributor: Michael Jordan

Blend of Eras and Experience

The team is built for variety. Tirico, Gannon, and Taylor bring the kind of polished delivery and familiarity NBC viewers expect. Reggie Miller shifts over from TNT after years as one of the most recognizable voices in national broadcasts. Grant Hill, who previously worked at CBS and Turner, adds both insight and credibility.

There’s also a wave of recent players stepping into media roles, including Rivers, Anthony, and Carter — all of whom carry name recognition and relatively fresh ties to today’s game. Brian Scalabrine and Robbie Hummel offer a mix of analysis and levity, while Derek Fisher and Brad Daugherty bring coaching and front office experience to the table.

Room for More?

As of now, the studio analyst lineup features just Anthony and Carter, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a few of the game analysts rotate through the studio desk when needed. Many of them — including Hill, Rivers, and Scalabrine — have experience doing exactly that.

There’s also speculation that NBC could deepen its bench by pulling from existing regional sports networks or leaning on contributors like Jalen Rose, who already works college basketball for NBC and would be a natural fit for NBA coverage.

The Jordan Factor

And then there’s Michael Jordan. NBC hasn’t detailed what his role as “special contributor” will entail, but any level of involvement from the six-time champion is bound to draw interest. Whether it’s in the studio, in documentaries, or tied to major events like All-Star Weekend or the NBA Finals, Jordan’s return to NBC airwaves is as nostalgic as it is headline-worthy.

With a carefully crafted mix of personalities and production muscle behind it, NBA on NBC is officially back in the game. Now, all that’s left is tipoff.
