The Warriors led by 11 with 6:00 to go on Saturday and still lost to a Pacers team that has been crushed by injuries. Golden State scored five points the rest of the way. Indiana scored 21.

Stephen Curry took the blame, as relayed by Anthony Slater of ESPN. Curry had 24 points but shot 8-of-23 with five turnovers, and compiled only two assists and zero rebounds. He said he made the game harder than it needed to be and that the Warriors lacked organization and energy late.

“This is one of those look in the mirror (type games),” said Curry. “There are parts of the game where I made it too hard on all of us, with not getting getting organized, bad possessions, a little lack of energy.”

The Warriors were 4-1. Now they have lost two straight. But Jimmy Butler says he’s not concerned.

“We haven’t lost any momentum, we just haven’t been playing our best version of basketball,” said Butler, who went for 20 points, seven assists, six rebounds, three steals and two blocks. “It’s easy to get back to that — taking care of the ball, not fouling, rebounding, sharing, making shots.

“That’s easy. Like you said, it’s only seven games. Everybody’s still on this bus and doing what we’re supposed to be doing together.”

More Warriors

— Warriors coach Steve Kerr was particularly irritated after the loss, per Slater. Kerr said Golden State gave two games away, that execution down the stretch was awful. Kerr did praise the young players, noting Gui Santos, Moses Moody and Brandin Podziemski sparked the 11 point lead.

Trayce Jackson-Davis has been out of the rotation to start the season, as relayed by Dustin Dopirak of the Indianapolis Star. Jackson-Davis says he just needs to bring energy, rebound and run the floor when his chance comes. “We have a lot of older guys on our team, there will be guys who sit out back-to-backs, so when I get a chance I have to do those things and build on it from there,” he said.
