Despite a down shooting season, the Cavaliers have generated real trade interest in De’Andre Hunter, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.

Jake Fischer of The Stein Line adds that the Cavs are engaged in ongoing discussions involving the veteran forward.

That said, Cleveland is not eager to sell low. Siegel reports the front office does not want to move Hunter for less than what it paid a year ago, when it sent out Caris LeVert, Georges Niang, three second-round picks and two pick swaps to acquire him.

Hunter still fits the archetype teams covet as a big three and D wing. But he is hitting just 30.6 percent from deep this season, and his injury history remains a concern.

Fischer notes some teams are also hesitant about the $24.9 million guaranteed on his deal for 2026-27.

The Bucks previously showed interest in Hunter, but any framework centered on Kyle Kuzma went nowhere.

Siegel reports Kuzma does not appeal to Cleveland, and second apron rules would have complicated the salary mechanics anyway.

LeBron return talk

LeBron James has not committed to playing beyond this season, and his Lakers contract expires this summer.

According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN, multiple league and team sources say the Cavs would gladly welcome him back if he wanted a third stint in Cleveland.

The financial reality makes it difficult. The Cavs already have roughly $227 million guaranteed next season, meaning any reunion would almost certainly require a massive pay cut from James.

Today, it remains a fun idea more than a practical plan.

Tomlin’s unusual rise

Marc J. Spears of Andscape highlights the unlikely path of Nae’Qwan Tomlin, a former Rucker Park standout who did not play high school basketball before earning a two-way deal with Cleveland.

Tomlin has already appeared in 45 NBA games this season, putting him just five away from his two-way limit.

If the Cavs want to keep using him past the trade deadline, they will need to convert him to a standard contract.

Tyson thinking big

Jaylon Tyson is enjoying a breakout second season and earned a Rising Stars selection, but he is not stopping there.

As relayed by Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com, Tyson said he believes he deserves consideration for Most Improved Player and eventually wants to become an All Star.

“I do want to be an All Star one day,” Tyson said. “If we were winning more games right now, I would be in that conversation.

“The numbers speak for themselves. They say second year players cannot get it, but why not?”
