76ers
The 76ers have signed center Charles Bassey to a second 10-day contract, according to the NBA transactions log, via Hoops Rumors.
Bassey, 25, has yet to appear in a game for Philadelphia this season but provides short-term frontcourt depth for a roster that remains very much in flux. A familiar face, he was originally selected by the Sixers in the second round of the 2021 draft.
Bassey has been productive at the G League level, averaging 19 points and 11 rebounds per game with Santa Cruz.
After a strong showing in Summer League with Boston, he signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Hawks in September but was waived before the season.
He later signed a 10-day hardship deal with the Grizzlies and appeared in two games before that contract expired.
Celtics
The Celtics are promoting two-way big man Amari Williams to a standard contract, per Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
Williams has agreed to a two-year deal reportedly worth $2.7 million, though the exact structure remains unclear. A minimum contract would total $2.64 million, so Boston may have dipped slightly into the taxpayer mid-level exception to finalize the agreement.
Drafted 46th overall last June, Williams was technically selected by the Orlando Magic and rerouted to Boston on draft night.
The 6-foot-11 rookie has appeared in 13 NBA games, including two starts, averaging 1.7 points and 2.1 rebounds in limited minutes.
Most of his impact has come with the Maine Celtics, where he’s posted 15.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.7 blocks per game.
Boston’s trade of Chris Boucher to the Jazz helped clear the path for Williams to move up the depth chart.
Nuggets
The Nuggets have made a small but meaningful move to clean up their books.
According to Shams Charania of ESPN, Denver is sending forward Hunter Tyson and a 2032 second-round pick to the Nets in exchange for the least favorable of the Clippers’ or Hawks’ 2026 second-rounders.
The move allows Denver to duck below the luxury tax after operating just a few hundred thousand dollars above the line.
It also opens a second roster spot. Michael Scotto of HoopsHype confirms the Nuggets plan to promote two-way standout Spencer Jones to a standard deal.
Even after that promotion, Denver will still have flexibility. Bennett Durando of The Denver Post reports the team plans to stay active on the buyout market.
Tyson, 25, was the 37th pick in the 2023 draft but never carved out a consistent role. Denver also creates a small $2.2 million trade exception in the process.
