Thunder
The Thunder will remain shorthanded coming out of the break.
Superstar guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is still recovering from an abdominal strain and will be reevaluated in about a week, the team announced. That timeline likely keeps the reigning MVP out at least four more games.
Gilgeous-Alexander has not played since Feb. 3 and missed Oklahoma City’s final five games before the All-Star break.
Guard Ajay Mitchell will also be reevaluated in a week. The second-year player has missed 11 straight games due to an abdominal strain and a left ankle sprain.
Forward Jalen Williams is out at least two more weeks after aggravating a right hamstring strain on Feb. 11 in Phoenix. Williams had just returned from a 10-game absence before reinjuring the hamstring and will miss at least eight more games.
After a 24-1 start, the defending champions are 18-13 over their past 31 games but still sit atop the West at 42-14.
Nuggets
The Nuggets have made it official, signing KJ Simpson to a two-way contract.
Simpson, 23, was drafted by the Hornets in 2024 and appeared in 50 games, making 17 starts, before being waived earlier this month. He averaged 7.3 points and 2.9 assists in just over 21 minutes per game and has not played since Dec. 18.
Denver opened a two-way slot after promoting Spencer Jones to a standard contract. Simpson will be eligible for up to 16 regular season games depending on when the deal is finalized.
Clippers
The Clippers are set to fill both of their two-way openings, planning to sign Norchad Omier and Sean Pedulla, per Jake Fischer of The Stein Line.
Omier, 24, has spent the season with the Cleveland Charge and is averaging 18.5 points and 11.1 rebounds. He will become the first Nicaragua-born player in NBA history.
Pedulla, 23, has been productive with the Rip City Remix, averaging 19.7 points and 5.3 assists. Once finalized, the Clippers will have a full roster.
