Amazon glitch nearly steals show as Hornets top Heat in play-in classic

Well, that was almost a disaster.

Amazon Prime Video streamed its first NBA postseason game Tuesday night. Big moment. Big stage. And then… the screen went black. Right in the middle of overtime.

The matchup between the Heat and Hornets had everything. Drama. Shot-making. Chaos.

Coby White buried a turnaround three with 10.8 seconds left in regulation to force OT. Charlotte and Miami traded punches from there.

Hornets up 123-120 late in overtime. Timeout.

Then poof. Gone.

Viewers got the dreaded “technical difficulties” screen while Ian Eagle and Stan Van Gundy were mid-breakdown.

Worst possible timing.

The feed was out for more than a minute. When it came back, LaMelo Ball had already scored on a driving layup. Hornets up five. Fans missed it.

Even LeBron James chimed in from home.

To Prime’s credit, the broadcast held from there. And the ending delivered anyway.

Tyler Herro hit a twisting corner three. Then came a turnover by Ball. Then a foul. Herro calmly sank all three free throws to give Miami a 126-125 lead with 8.7 seconds left.

Wild. Out of a timeout, Ball attacked the right side, leaned in and flipped home the go-ahead layup with 4.7 seconds remaining.

Last chance for the Heat … and Davion Mitchell pushed it the other way. Miles Bridges tracked him down and swatted the potential game-winner at the buzzer.

Ballgame. Hornets 127, Heat 126.

Ball finished with 30 points and 10 assists. Bridges added 28 and nine boards. White chipped in 19, including the shot that forced overtime.

For Miami, Mitchell scored 28 and Andrew Wiggins had 27. Bam Adebayo exited early with a lower back injury.

Charlotte moves on, still chasing its first playoff appearance in a decade. Miami’s season is over.

And Amazon? Dodged one. Because if that blackout hits about two minutes later, we’re talking about something entirely different today.
