No time to breathe now.
The Cavaliers survived two seven-game fights, walked into Detroit for Game 7, and absolutely handled business. A series that looked shaky more than once suddenly ended with Cleveland looking confident, connected, and very much alive.
Now comes the New York Knicks. Different challenge. Different style. Different stage.
The Eastern Conference finals have arrived fast for the Cavs. Maybe too fast.

What to expect
This matchup almost feels unfair from a rest standpoint.
The Cavs have been living playoff basketball every other night for what feels like a month. Emotional swings, physical series, constant pressure. Cleveland has not had consecutive days off since late April.
The Knicks have basically been sitting in a recliner waiting for them.
New York wrapped up Philadelphia quickly and has had nine days between playoff games. Fresh legs. Time to prepare. Time to heal. Time to study every Cleveland tendency from the first two rounds.
That matters. The question is whether rhythm matters more.
Sometimes the rested team comes out sharp. Sometimes it takes a quarter or two to rediscover playoff intensity. Cleveland, meanwhile, should not have any trouble finding urgency. The Cavs have been playing elimination-style basketball for nearly two weeks.
Watch the backcourts.
Donovan Mitchell and James Harden finally looked fully in sync in Game 7 against Detroit. Mitchell attacked early, Harden controlled pace, and Cleveland’s offense had balance instead of desperation.
New York counters with Jalen Brunson, who has been one of the best playoff performers in the league, and a lineup built around length, switching, and physical wings.
That is where this series probably gets decided.
Can Cleveland create clean offense against all those defenders? Can the Knicks keep Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen from controlling the interior? Can the Cavs hold up physically after two draining series?
Game 1 may come down to energy more than tactics.
If the Cavs still have enough in the tank, they’re playing with real confidence right now and absolutely can steal home court immediately.
If the legs are gone, even temporarily, New York has enough depth and freshness to make this a long night at the Garden.
