Warriors
The Warriors continue to be mentioned among the teams pursuing LeBron James, and one factor could separate them from the rest of the field.
As written by Joey Akeley of Warriors on SI, Golden State’s proximity to Los Angeles could make the franchise especially appealing to James as he weighs where to spend the final years of his career.
Unlike the Cavaliers, Heat and 76ers, the Warriors are just a short flight from Los Angeles, potentially allowing James to spend more time with his family while continuing to play at a championship level.
That said, if that were the absolute priority, perhaps James would’ve just stayed with the Lakers. Or sign with the Clippers.
Anyway, Akeley contends Golden State also offers the opportunity to team with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, along with coach Steve Kerr‘s player-friendly culture.
Still, league sources continue to tell Hoops Wire that Cleveland remains the team many around the NBA view as the favorite, with Miami and Philadelphia also firmly in the mix.
Jazz
The Jazz made only modest additions in free agency, but Josh Okogie could end up making a significant impact.
Jared Koch of Jazz on SI wrote that Utah views the veteran wing as a potential solution to several defensive issues that plagued the club last season.
The Jazz ranked near the bottom of the NBA in multiple defensive categories in 2025-26, and Okogie arrives with a reputation as one of the league’s better perimeter defenders.
Utah signed the veteran to a two-year deal after trading center Walker Kessler to the Lakers earlier this offseason.
Nets
The Nets should remain focused on accumulating talent rather than filling specific roster needs, according to Ivan White of Nets on SI.
While Brooklyn hopes to continue improving after several rebuilding seasons, White argued the front office shouldn’t sacrifice long-term upside simply to chase a play-in tournament berth.
The Nets still have a young core in development, and any additional trades should be viewed through the lens of maximizing talent and future assets.
Veterans such as Julius Randle and Terance Mann can help stabilize the roster, but White suggested Brooklyn should resist making short-term moves that could limit the growth of its younger players.
