Raptors Officially Sign Garrett Temple, Mouhamadou Gueye, Kevin Obanor

The Raptors have officially signed guard/forward Garrett Temple, and forwards Mouhamadou Gueye and Kevin Obanor, the team announced in a press release.

Temple, 37, was waived by the Pelicans earlier this month, just a few days before his $5.4 million salary was to become guaranteed. It has not been determined if his deal with the Raptors is fully guaranteed, just that he is receiving the veteran’s minimum for a player with at least 10 years of experience.

More specifically, Temple’s deal with the Raptors is for one year and $3.2 million, agent Mark Bartelstein told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Last season, he appeared in just 20 games but is viewed as a respected veteran voice and a key member of the NBA players’ union.

Along with the Pelicans, Temple has also spent time with the Bulls, Rockets, Kings, Spurs, Clippers, Nets, Grizzlies and Wizards since entering the league in 2009.

Meanwhile, Gueye and Obanor reportedly are receiving Exhibit 10 training camp deals.

Gueye, 20, is 6-foot-9 and averaged 8.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.9 blocks in 29 games with the G League’s Texas Legends last season. 

Obanor, 24, is 6-8 and went undrafted out of Texas Tech. He averaged 14.4 points and 6.4 rebounds in 30 games as a fifth-year senior.

Toronto has also added guard Dennis Schroder as a free agent this offseason, as well as rookie shooting guard Gradey Dick via the 2023 NBA Draft.
