Pacers reveal court for All-Star Game, with a nod to 1985

The court for the 2024 NBA All-Star Game looks a lot like the Indiana Pacers. At least, it has the Pacers’ blue and gold color scheme.

And that makes sense, considering Indianapolis is the host of this year’s game, set for Feb. 18 at 8 p.m. ET. The Pacers revealed what the court will look like on social media.

“The court features our signature navy blue and gold colors, a checkered flag silhouette in top left and bottom right corners, and stars along the sidelines as a nod to the 1985 NBA All-Star court,” the Pacers wrote.

For the record, 1985 was the last time Indiana hosted the All-Star Game. That one was held in the Hoosier Dome and featured the likes of Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Julius Erving and yes, Michael Jordan. Houston Rockets center/forward Ralph Sampson was named All-Star MVP that year, as the Western Conference defeated the Eastern by a 140-129 count.

This year’s game returns to an East-vs.-West format after several years of having “captains” pick the teams. Fans and traditionalists seem overjoyed by that fact.
