Evan Mobley‘s name continues to surface in trade speculation, particularly in hypothetical scenarios involving Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.
But according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line, the Cavaliers are not expected to entertain trade offers involving Mobley.
The report should come as little surprise. For starters, it’s about the 17th such report. President of basketball operations Koby Altman also said that Mobley is a key part of the team’s future.

Mobley, who turns 25 later this month, remains one of the NBA’s premier young big men and is viewed internally as a cornerstone piece. The former Defensive Player of the Year averaged 17.0 points and 8.1 rebounds during the postseason and is under contract for four more seasons.
While some have questioned whether Cleveland should consider a blockbuster move in pursuit of an immediate championship, moving Mobley would represent a significant gamble for a franchise that has invested heavily in his development.
Stein also reported that the Cavs are expected to prioritize re-signing veteran forward Dean Wade this offseason.
Wade, Ellis, Strus among players to watch
No matter, the Cavs face several roster decisions as they navigate another summer deep into luxury-tax territory.
As Tommy Wild of Cavs Roundtable recently noted, Dean Wade, Keon Ellis and Max Strus are among the players worth monitoring as Cleveland evaluates its options.
Wade is scheduled to become a free agent and could draw interest from teams seeking a versatile defender who can stretch the floor. As Wild pointed out, the Cavaliers have long valued Wade’s contributions, though matching a sizable outside offer could become difficult depending on the market.
Ellis is another free agent to watch. Wild noted that while the defensive-minded guard provided depth after arriving at the trade deadline, his role diminished during the postseason, leaving questions about his future fit.
Wild also mentioned Strus as a potential name to monitor. While Strus remains under contract through next season, his salary could make him a consideration if Cleveland decides it needs additional financial flexibility.
League sources have consistently indicated the Cavs prefer continuity around their core. But as Wild suggested, operating above the second apron often forces contenders to weigh difficult financial decisions.
