Charge trade former Cleveland State guard Rob Edwards

The Cleveland Charge have acquired forward Malik Fitts from the Capital City Go-Go in exchange for guard Rob Edwards in a G League trade on Tuesday.

Edwards began his college career at Cleveland State before transferring to Arizona State.

Fitts is 6-foot-6 and played in 14 games during the Showcase Cup season and averaged 4.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 17.2 minutes per game.  After going undrafted in 2020, Fitts has spent time with the Clippers, Jazz and Celtics in the NBA. 

Edwards played in all 16 of Cleveland’s Showcase Cup games, averaging 9.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 21.9 minutes per game.

Edwards, 26, is 6-5 and was named to the Horizon League All-Freshmen team in his first season, then second-team All-Horizon League in 2017 as a sophomore, before transferring to Arizona State.

He spent last season with the G League’s Wisconsin Herd.
