Chris Paul Hopes To Play In ASG, Talks Hand Injury: ‘We’re Going To See’

CLEVELAND — Suns point guard Chris Paul isn’t revealing the status of his injured right thumb, but he does seem to want to play in the All-Star Game, as relayed by Duane Rankin of the Arizona Republic.Chris Paul

Paul is a member of Team LeBron and injured his hand in the Suns’ final game before the break, a win over the Rockets.

“It’ll be alright,” Paul said of the injury, before addressing if plans to play in the All-Start Game. “I’m going to see. Even if it’s just to get out there and maybe throw a couple of assists.”

When asked about the severity of the injury, he said, “We’re going to see.”

Paul was ejected from the Rockets game in the third quarter after complaining to the officials following the injury. He could also be facing a suspension after the All-Star Break, as he bumped one of the officials during his protest.

“Shortly after JT Orr whistled him for a technical foul, Paul had a pass deflected by Dennis Schröder and grabbed at his hand in pain after the play,” wrote Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors. “He then bumped into Orr from behind, which drew a second technical and an automatic ejection and may result in further penalties from the league.”

“After the game, Suns coach said Monty Williams said he didn’t have an update on the injury, but three-time All-Star Devin Booker said Paul ‘was fine,’” Rankin reported.
