The Knicks are canvassing the market for bench upgrades ahead of the trade deadline, with Spurs forward Jeremy Sochan, and Pelicans point guard Jose Alvarado and center Yves Missi emerging as names of interest, per Brett Siegel of Clutch Points.

Each fills a different need.

Sochan would bring size, defense, and versatility to a second unit that could use more edge. The shot is still a work in progress, but he rebounds, defends, and can toggle between roles. He is making $7.1 million and is headed for restricted free agency.

Alvarado represents a potential answer behind Jalen Brunson. He brings ball pressure, tempo, and playmaking off the bench, averaging 7.9 points and 3.2 assists in just under 22 minutes per game. He holds a $4.5 million option for next season.

Missi is more of a developmental swing. The young big started extensively as a rookie in New Orleans and still flashes rim protection and rebounding. His minutes are down, but the upside remains. He is on a rookie deal, with a $3.5 million option already exercised for next season.

Meanwhile, New York continues exploring ways to move Guerschon Yabusele, who has not worked out as hoped. Siegel reports the Spurs and Pelicans have engaged in discussions.

Naji Marshall is also on the Knicks’ radar, though league-wide interest is strong and Dallas is setting a steep asking price.

Cap math remains the biggest obstacle. The Knicks are hard-capped, operating just below the second apron, and cannot take back more salary than they send out. Every move will require precision.
