The Mavericks have signed undrafted guard JaQuori McLaughlin to a two-way contract, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN.
McLaughlin, 23, is 6-foot-4 and spent time with the with the Warriors’ summer team after going undrafted out of UCSB. He is a former Mr. Basketball in the state of Washington.
McLaughlin averaged 16.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 9.6 assists during his summer run and was offered a training camp deal with the Warriors. But he decided on a better deal to join the Mavs.
“Once the signing becomes official, the Mavericks will have both two-way slots filled, with Eugene Omoruyi occupying the other one,” noted Arthur Hill of Hoops Rumors. “The move will also push Dallas to the training camp limit of 20 players.”
