NBA Finals odds favor Victor Wembanyama, Spurs over Knicks

The NBA Finals matchup is officially set, and oddsmakers believe Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs have the edge.

San Antonio opened as a significant favorite over the Knicks after rallying past the Thunder in seven games to capture the Western Conference title.

According to DraftKings, the Spurs are listed at -205 to win the championship, while New York enters at +170.

The series begins Wednesday, June 3, with Game 1 scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET at Madison Square Garden.

The Knicks have not appeared in the NBA Finals since 1999. New York earned its trip by sweeping the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference finals behind another impressive postseason run from Jalen Brunson.

San Antonio took a much more difficult path.

The Spurs survived a seven-game battle with Oklahoma City, winning Games 6 and 7 after falling behind three games to two. Wembanyama was dominant throughout the series and now enters the Finals as the overwhelming favorite to capture Finals MVP honors.

DraftKings lists Wembanyama at -185 to win the award, while Brunson sits at +210. Sportsbooks also appear to be expecting a relatively short series.

The over/under on total games is set at 5.5, with the under listed at +140 and the over at -170.

Meanwhile, bettors looking at the series spread can find the Knicks at +1.5 games (-140), while the Spurs are -1.5 games (+115).

Game 1 tips off Wednesday night in New York as the Knicks seek their first NBA championship since 1973. San Antonio is pursuing its first title since 2014 and the first of what many believe could be several during the Wembanyama era.
