Raptors

The 10-day contracts of guard/forward Justise Winslow and forward Mouhamadou Gueye expired, sending both back into unrestricted free agency.Justise Winslow, Toronto Raptors, NBA

Winslow did not appear in a game, with Gueye appearing in just one. Toronto’s roster again stands at 13 with the team needing to fill at least one spot by March 13.

Winslow, 27, is 6-foot-6 and has been playing with Raptors 905 of the G League. He was selected by the Miami Heat with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. Along with the Heat, he has spent time with the Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Clippers and Portland Trail Blazers.

Winslow appeared in 29 games with Portland last season, averaging 6.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists. He carries NBA career averages of 8.2 points and 5.1 boards.

Gueye, 25, is 6-9 and averaging 14.3 points, 8.4 rebounds more than 2.0 blocks in the G League this season. He was signed by the Dallas Mavericks before the start of last season, waived, and then played for the Texas Legends of the G League.

Knicks

  • The second 10-day contract for center/forward Taj Gibson has expired without the Knicks re-signing him. If they decide to do so, they’ll have to sign him for the rest of the season, per league rules.
  • Peter Botte of the New York Post examined what went right, and wrong, for the Knicks as they enter the post-All-Star portion of the schedule. “It will be incumbent on head coach Tom Thibodeau to integrate the new rotation pieces once closer to or at full strength,” Botte wrote.
  • New York is said to be “optimistic” that All-Star power forward Julius Randle will return from a shoulder injury and play again this season, as our Ashish Mathur relayed here.

Cavaliers

  • The Cavs reconvened on Tuesday and remain winners of 18 of 20. Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com breaks down the post-break portion of the season, writing that Cleveland is set to make a “final push” for the playoffs.
  • We recorded the latest Cavs on the Break podcast live at Whitey’s Burgers N Booze, with special guests Michael Reghi and Kenny Roda. You can listen to it on Apple Music here.
  • In case you missed it, the Cavs are signing rookie forward Pete Nance to a two-way contract. Our Ashish Mathur has the full story here.
