Lonnie Walker IV’s latest NBA opportunity ended Monday. His next one could take him back to Europe.
Walker is drawing interest from at least three EuroLeague teams after being waived by the Nuggets, according to Aris Barkas of Eurohoops. Turkish club Besiktas is among those keeping an eye on the veteran guard.
Walker, 27, appeared in two preseason games for Denver while on a non-guaranteed contract. He has already played for Zalgiris Kaunas and Maccabi Tel Aviv, so another overseas move would be familiar territory.
He also recently signed with agent Misko Raznatovic, another indication that a return to Europe could be in the works. Nothing is settled yet, but Walker appears to have options after his short stay with the Nuggets.
A couple more notes involving familiar NBA names:
- Raul Neto has signed with Australia’s Brisbane Bullets as an injury replacement player, the team announced. Neto, 34, appeared in 435 NBA games from 2015-23, including a stint with the Cavaliers. He said the opportunity will also help him prepare to represent Brazil in the upcoming FIBA window. “The NBL is a very competitive league and a new challenge for me,” Neto said. “I’m excited for the opportunity to experience the league, compete against some great players and be part of the Bullets program.”
- Christian Koloko is drawing interest from Spain’s Baskonia after being waived by the Pelicans, according to El Correo. Baskonia needs frontcourt help after losing Khalifa Diop to the Cavs and parting ways with Alex Len. Koloko has appeared in 122 NBA games since being drafted in 2022 and is no longer eligible for a two-way contract. He had been competing for a roster spot in New Orleans on a non-guaranteed deal.
