Lamar Stevens Taking Game To Paris

Veteran NBA forward Lamar Stevens is taking his game overseas, having signed with Paris Basketball, the team announced in a press release.

This marks the first European stop for Stevens, who went undrafted out of Penn State in 2020 and has spent his pro career in the NBA and G League. He’s played in 220 regular season games for the Cavaliers, Celtics, and Grizzlies, averaging 5.6 points and 2.9 rebounds while shooting 46 percent from the field.

Stevens spent most of last season with the Motor City Cruise before landing in Memphis after the All-Star break. He signed a pair of 10-day contracts and then stuck around for the rest of the year.

While his role was minimal for most of his Grizzlies stint, he made the most of the season finale. In a blowout win over Dallas, Stevens scored a career-high 31 points on 14-of-25 shooting, reminding people he’s still capable of filling it up when given the chance.

Now 28, he’ll head to Paris to join a team on the rise. Paris Basketball is coming off a breakout season, winning its first LNB Élite title and earning a EuroLeague postseason berth in just its first year in the competition.
