NBA Trade Rumors: Josh Giddey, Paul George, Knicks, Brandon Ingram, Cavs

The Thunder are expected to make point guard Josh Giddey available in trade talks this offseason, as relayed by NBA insider Evan Sidery of Forbes.Josh Giddey Oklahoma City Thunder, NBA

Giddey and the Thunder gained the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, before losing to the Mavericks in the conference semifinals. Giddey is eligible for a contract extension.

“OKC will likely attempt to trade Giddey alongside some of their 13 future first-round picks to secure an impact player who is a cleaner rotation fit,” Sidery wrote.

In other news:

  • Clippers star Paul George may be “an underrated target” for the Knicks, per Sidery. George, of course, is a free agent after failing to reach a contract extension. He has also been linked to the 76ers (repeatedly) and the Magic.
  • As for the Knicks, Sidery wrote: “If George decided to go the opt-in and trade route, New York can create an almost identical salary match utilizing Julius Randle and Bojan Bogdanovic. George is also repped by CAA, the power agency that Knicks president Leon Rose helped run.”
  • We have plenty more on the Knicks’ looming offseason right here. Sources have told Hoops Wire they believe New York will attempt to run it back and hope for good health. But some reinforcements to the bench are highly likely on the way.
  • Also, teams are monitoring the availability of Randle this summer, per NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic. “Randle’s $30.3 million salary alongside their draft capital also makes it very easy for New York to go star hunting,” Sidery wrote.
  • The Pelicans are not expected to offer forward Brandon Ingram a max contract extension, per Christian Clark of NOLA.com. Ingram is already being viewed as a potential trade chip, with the Cavaliers, 76ers, Hawks and Magic being mentioned as potential suitors. (We have more on the Cavs’ reported interest right here.)
  • As for the Cavs, yeah, we have tons of rumors and chatter on our Cavs page. Those will seemingly be endless over the next several weeks. Check it out here.
