Nearly 20 More Players Become Eligible To Be Traded

As of Wednesday, January 15, 18 NBA players who signed free agent contracts with specific criteria this past offseason are now eligible to be traded, as thoroughly detailed by Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors.KJ Martin, NBA, 76ers, Sixers

Most offseason signees became trade-eligible on December 15, but players who met certain conditions had to wait an extra month before they could be moved, Adams noted.

These criteria include re-signing with their previous team, receiving a raise of at least 20%, having a salary above the minimum, and being signed using Bird or Early Bird rights while their team was over the salary cap.

The following 18 players have met these criteria and are now eligible to be traded as of today, January 15, as relayed by Adams:

  1. Precious Achiuwa (Knicks)
  2. OG Anunoby (Knicks)
  3. Goga Bitadze (Magic)
  4. Miles Bridges (Hornets)
  5. Max Christie (Lakers)
  6. Nic Claxton (Nets)
  7. Haywood Highsmith (Heat)
  8. Isaiah Joe (Thunder)
  9. Johnny Juzang (Jazz)
  10. KJ Martin (Sixers)
  11. Tyrese Maxey (Sixers)
  12. Malik Monk (Kings)
  13. Josh Okogie (Suns)
  14. Scotty Pippen Jr. (Grizzlies)
  15. Immanuel Quickley (Raptors)
  16. Obi Toppin (Pacers)
  17. Aaron Wiggins (Thunder)
  18. Patrick Williams (Bulls)

Pippen Jr. does not meet the specific criteria outlined above, Adams noted, but he became trade-eligible because he was converted from a two-way contract to a standard deal on October 15, marking three months since that change.

Per Adams, players still not trade-eligible include Doug McDermott (Kings), who will become eligible on Thursday, Sam Hauser (Celtics), who becomes eligible on January 23, and several others like Andrew Nembhard (Pacers), Jay Huff (Grizzlies), Jarrett Allen (Cavaliers), and Ariel Hukporti (Knicks), with eligibility dates ranging into early February. Additionally, stars like Joel Embiid, Lauri Markkanen, and Jamal Murray won’t become trade-eligible before the February 6 deadline.
