The Bulls and Timberwolves completed one of the more substantial deals of the week.
Minnesota is acquiring guard Ayo Dosunmu and forward Julian Phillips, per Shams Charania of ESPN. Chicago receives former lottery pick Rob Dillingham, forward Leonard Miller, and four second-round picks.
According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the picks include selections in 2026, 2027, 2031, and 2032 with protections tied to Denver, Golden State, Cleveland, Phoenix, Houston, and Minnesota.
The Wolves had been searching for backcourt help all season. Mike Conley has slowed, while young guards like Dillingham and Terrence Shannon Jr. failed to seize larger roles. That placed more playmaking pressure on Anthony Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo.
Dosunmu gives Minnesota a reliable ball-handler and shooter. The Chicago native is having a career year, averaging 15.0 points while shooting .514 from the field and .451 from three.
Dillingham’s exit ends a disappointing Minnesota tenure after the Wolves paid heavily to draft him eighth in 2024. He averaged just 4.0 points across 84 games.
Dosunmu is on an expiring $7.5 million deal and extension-eligible through June 30. Minnesota will hold his Bird rights if he reaches free agency.
Chicago continues to stack assets. Per Bobby Marks of ESPN, the Bulls have acquired nine second-round picks this week alone. Their roster may be unbalanced, but the focus is clearly future-facing.
