Pete Nance isn’t going anywhere after all.
Less than a week after waiving the forward, the Bucks have re-signed him to a new two-year contract with a much more team-friendly structure.
According to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line and Eric Nehm of The Athletic, the deal is for the veteran’s minimum, is non-guaranteed, and includes a team option for the second season. That’s a much different setup than the previous contract, which would have become fully guaranteed had Milwaukee kept it in place.

In other words, the Bucks get to keep Nance while maintaining plenty of roster flexibility.
The 25-year-old appeared in 47 games for Milwaukee last season, averaging 5.4 points and 2.7 rebounds while shooting an impressive 51.5 percent from the field and 42 percent on 3-pointers. He originally joined the Bucks on a two-way contract before earning a standard NBA deal late in the season.
It’s also been a pretty good week for the Nance family.
Pete is the son of Cavaliers legend Larry Nance and the younger brother of Larry Nance Jr., who agreed to a one-year contract with the Pacers on Wednesday after spending last season in Cleveland.
Milwaukee already has a full 15-man roster on standard contracts, so another move will likely be needed before opening night if the Bucks intend to carry Nance into the regular season. But after restructuring his deal, it’s clear they’d like to keep him around.
