Apparently, the streets are talking, and they say LeBron James returning to Cavs

Everyone has a LeBron James opinion these days.

Some come from NBA executives. Some come from agents. Some come from anonymous league sources.

And then… there are the streets.

ESPN Cleveland personality Emmett Golden added a little more fuel to the LeBron fire Thursday, saying someone who has been right before reached out with an interesting message.

“Someone who reached out to me in the past and was right… reached out to me yesterday, late last night,” Golden said. “Bron and Bronny back to Cleveland.”

Golden wasn’t presenting it as a report. He was careful about that.

Instead, he pointed to something that’s become part of LeBron lore over the years.

“The media business never really knows where LeBron is moving,” Golden said. “But the streets do. A lot of times, the streets do.”

That, of course, got plenty of Cavs fans talking.

Cleveland has been viewed by many around the league as the favorite since James officially entered free agency, though Miami, Philadelphia and several other contenders have also been mentioned.

The Cavs are coming off an Eastern Conference finals appearance, have Donovan Mitchell locked into another max contract and are still expected to re-sign James Harden once LeBron’s decision is made.

Then there’s the Bronny factor.

The younger James remains under contract with the Lakers, meaning the Cavs would have to swing a trade if father and son are indeed going to finish the journey together in Wine and Gold.

Does Golden’s latest nugget mean anything? Maybe. Maybe not.

But if there’s one thing we’ve all learned over the past two decades, it’s this: When it comes to LeBron James, rumors have a funny way of becoming reality.

Or… they disappear just as quickly as they arrived. Either way, the Cavs will keep waiting. And apparently, so will the streets.
