Cavs Reveal Media Day Date, Training Camp Roster

AKRON, Ohio — Well, ready or not, it’s almost that time again.Darius Garland

That’s right, another Cavaliers season is right around the court, just a few weeks away. To be exact, that would be Media Day on Oct. 2, followed by the start of training camp the very next day.

The Cavs made all this official in a release to the media. As I’ve mentioned before, I’ll be returning to the Cavs beat this season. So along with continuing to cover the rest of the NBA, I’ll aim to offer as much insight as possible on the team in Cleveland on a daily basis. All right here on Hoops Wire.

Anyway, enough about me and more about the Cavs. Along with revealing the date for Media Day, they announced their (still tentative) camp roster. It is as follows:

There seems to be a chance that shooting guard and former first-round pick Zhaire Smith could be there too, as we relayed in this post. Others may sign on as well.

The Cavs finished 51-31 last season, their best record without LeBron James on the team in 25 years. That was good enough for second place in the Central Division and fourth in the Eastern Conference. Now, they are looking to build on their playoff appearance, which ended in the first round at the hands of the Knicks.
