The Knicks weren’t the only ones barely surviving the chaos at the end of Game 1.
Apparently, coach Mike Brown almost didn’t either.
Brown revealed Wednesday that he tweaked his calf during the frantic closing seconds of New York’s 115-104 overtime win over the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference finals opener at Madison Square Garden.

And if you watched the ending, this somehow tracks perfectly.
As Sam Merrill’s potential go-ahead three-pointer rattled out in the final seconds of regulation, Brown sprinted toward the court trying desperately to get the officials’ attention for a timeout.
He jumped, waved and basically launched himself into full panic mode while the referees ignored him completely.
Eventually, Mikal Bridges grabbed the rebound and fired up a desperation heave as time expired.
Meanwhile, Brown could be seen limping afterward near midcourt.
Thankfully for the Knicks, and perhaps Brown’s lower leg, the injury doesn’t appear serious.
“It’s all right,” Brown said Wednesday, via Jared Schwartz of the New York Post. “I’m good to go.”
Then came the line of the day.
“I would’ve blown my Achilles out if I didn’t have on my P.F. Flyers,” Brown joked. “It’s old school.”
As for Game 2, the Knicks understand that the Cavs will have revenge in mind.
“We know that they’re gonna be ready to go,” Jalen Brunson said Wednesday. “Being able to steal one at [our] home, after the way they played most of the game, we know that they’re definitely gonna be ready to do.”
