The Spurs are facing the toughest challenge of their season. That doesn’t mean they’re giving up.
After suffering a stunning 107-106 loss to the Knicks in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, San Antonio returned home trailing 3-1 in the series and searching for answers following one of the largest collapses in Finals history.

According to Marc J. Spears of Andscape, the mood inside the Spurs’ locker room was understandably subdued after New York erased a 29-point deficit and won on OG Anunoby’s tip-in with 1.2 seconds remaining.
Still, veteran forward Keldon Johnson insisted the team’s confidence remains intact.
“It’s a tough one, a tough pill to swallow,” Johnson said, via Spears. “I feel like we got comfortable, and things happen. But I think the main thing is that belief is there. We believe. Our belief is as high as ever.”
The Spurs appeared firmly in control for much of Game 4 before the Knicks stormed back behind Jalen Brunson, Anunoby and a relentless defensive effort.
Now San Antonio must try to regroup quickly with Game 5 scheduled for Saturday night.

Coach Mitch Johnson struck a similar tone after the loss, acknowledging the disappointment while urging his players to move forward.
“We have two days to put everything we have into that game,” Johnson said. “That’s the only game that matters.”
The Knicks are one win away from their first NBA championship since 1973.
The Spurs, meanwhile, are hoping their season still has at least one more chapter left to write.
